Londolozi 12 March 2014 - Private Guided Photo Safari

12th March 2014
Well the final morning of our private photographic safari with Africa Photographic Travel at Londolozi Game Reserve did not disappoint for my guests and i. We started off with with a large male lion and a pride of 4 adult lionesses with their 9 sub-adult cubs resting up on one of the roads with the first rays of light falling on them, once things warmed up they started to move off into the thickets where we left them be. We then carried on to follow up on some female leopard track we spotted earlier on in the morning, after not too long we heard some impala alarm calling in the distance, upon closer investigation we came across a lovely female leopard walking down the road towards us, we spent the next hour or so with her as she stalked 2 different herds of impala. After waiting patiently at a distance we witnessed her successfully stalk and chase on both occasions, however with no success of an actual kill, but it was the waiting patiently and not knowing where she was after she had disappeared into the undergrowth, just waiting for her to burst out at the impala, which made it so exhilarating. All in all it was a successful safari filled with great sightings, fantastic photographic opportunities, at a great location and with awesome people, what more could one ask for.
